The Great Disappointment continues

How's this for hope and change: Obama picks RIAA's favorite lawyer for a top Justice post. I guess the next four or eight years will be interesting. We'll get to see the anti-revolutionary left making lame excuses for their man just like the right has done for the last eight.

The right and Bush

making lame excuses for their man just like the right has done for the last eight.

My sense is that the right generally, and at least large sections of it, were disappointed with Bush on domestic policy, though generally supported him on foreign policy. This was not all to Bush's discredit: the right was seriously pissed off at him for being insufficiently serious about keeping the Mexicans in Mexico.

So far on balance the right seems relieved and in some cases pleased by Obama's choices (though not necessarily the particular one you mention), while a large chunk of the left has been pulling its hair out, feeling betrayed. I can't say that I am 100% displeased by the RIAA-lawyer pick. It has the silver lining that it the horde of leftist twits who turned Digg into a Huffpo front page are, at least momentarily, in pain.
