Does "libertarian" = "cynical"?

Let's see: The moral of the story is that the monopolistic power of the state is all that stands between people and their own destructive habits. The freedom-loving rebels overthrow the state and lead everyone to their doom. The final scene features the masses -- what are left of them -- chanting "Hail Malthus!"

But yeah, aside from that, it's a real libertarian blockbuster.
