Randy Canadian

Marc Emery, who got himself in a bit of trouble with the US government for engaging in the business of selling marijuana seeds from Canada (a “crime” generally shrugged at north of the border, but receives long prison sentences here in the US), credits Ayn Rand for his journey from the Left to libertarianism.

Mr. Emery describes himself as "a responsible libertarian, not a hedonist," who extols the virtues of capitalism, low taxes, small government and the right of citizens to bear arms.

He said he grew up a social democrat, influenced by his father, who was active in trade union work. But he said his life changed in 1979 when he began reading the works of Ayn Rand, who championed individual freedom and capitalism.

[...]

The combination of Rand's philosophy and the marijuana set him on a course of advocacy in which, he said, "I decided to dedicate my whole life to repudiate the state."

In the spirit of anal

In the spirit of anal retentiveness, Schumer is spelled with a "C."

I wouldn't say Marc Emery

I wouldn't say Marc Emery made a "journey from the Left to libertarianism." Such a journey would be impossible, because libertarianism *is* the Left -- the true Left. The conservatives who currently pass themselves off as "liberals" -- Hillary Clinton, Charles Shumer, John Kerry, etc., etc. -- aren't on the Left at all.

Where the hell am I gonna

Where the hell am I gonna get my marijuana seeds now! His shop in downtown vancouver (where I live) got closed down, and the website as well. Apperantly the local police were pressured and coordinated by the DEA into raiding Marc Emery's store.. American police influence is one cross border product I can do without.

No true Scotsman would use

No true Scotsman would use that terminology.

Hillary Clinton, Charles

Hillary Clinton, Charles Shumer, John Kerry, etc., etc. – aren’t on the Left at all.

Well of course you can define the terms "left" and "conservative" however you like, but you should be aware that your terminology is nonstandard, and makes you look very silly. :dunce:
