Mises University, pt. 1

Mises University has so far been very interesting. The lecturers are all solid on Austrian economics, but so far have covered mostly the foundations, and so haven't managed to lose me yet. Some of the later lectures promise to be challenging and I am looking forward to them.

What I was also looking forward to and what has also been great is meeting other young radical libertarians. Many of our readers may be familiar with the experience of being the only [insert preferred tag here] they know. At the Mises Institute everyone is a libertarian, and a great percentage are on the radical end of the spectrum. It's comforting to know that there are others like me spread over not only the United States but the world.

Tim Swanson has been busy taking pictures, and if you follow that link you will first see a picture of him with two of your favorite bloggers in the world which will then take you to a larger archive of pictures taken here. (As as aside, if you don't want to destroy the mystique you have no doubt built up around such blogging giants as Micha and me, maybe you shouldn't follow the link. We are not 6'5" and though we do rain down Jovian thunderbolts in the blogosphere we don't look particularly Jovian.)

I will update later in the day with a little about the substance of the lectures, so stay posted. And if you're a Mises Institute Donor, thanks.
